Applying the PMBOK Framework

The first three modules of the PMP Proficiency Program™ helped you learn and understand the PMBOK knowledge areas and process groups. You have compiled your project management experience and submitted the PMP exam application to PMI. Now it is time to take your study to the next level by applying your knowledge.

This 12-hour module will walk you through all phases of the project management timeline and help you understand how the PMBOK framework is applied to a real project. During the process groups of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing of a case under study, you will use real tools to achieve real results and thereby letting heretofore abstract ideas take root in the real world.

The schedule of classes is as follows (6-9 pm):

  • Class 1: Tuesday, May 11
  • Class 2: Thursday, May 13
  • Class 3: Tuesday, May 18
  • Class 4: Thursday, May 20

Applying the PMBOK Framework will develop your applied knowledge as follows:

  • Tying knowledge areas together by process groups
  • Using real templates for generating PMBOK documents
  • Understanding project flow by studying an actual case
  • Balancing conflicting requirements
  • Making real decisions in an imperfect world
  • Resolving conflict and coping with ethical issues
  • Integrating an actual project through all knowledge areas and process groups
